Found in in a small strip mall in Sharonville Top Pot is one of the many Hot Pot restaurants in the area. They also provide Korean BBQ if you fancy grilling some delicious and numbing meats.

This week my wife and I decided that we’ll try something new to both of us and I landed on Hot Pot which we haven’t tried together. For her it was first and it’s one of the cornerstones of how we’ve found ways to expand out palate for our relationship and taste. Top Pot is located in strip mall in Sharonville that has been around for quite some time. I recall when I used to come here for the Indian Buffet around the corner growing up.

Top Pot serves both Hot Pot and K BBQ. While we did go in originally deciding on Hot Pot, the BBQ also reeled us in. We were sat down at a booth that had more burners than we needed and a sizzling grill plate that was ready to cook all the meats we wanted. As with many locations, Top Pot is an All You Can Eat (AYCE) restaurant but be careful, you’ll be full before you know it.

Having decided on both, we both got our broth first along with the meats, noodles, dumplings, and veggies to cook. My wife got the Rejuvenation Herb Broth and I opted to numb my mouth and my insides with the Szechuan Hot Spicy Broth (lvl 2). I would have gone level three but as soon as they brought our broth out and it started heating, I got a sense of what I was up against. My wife got ramen noodles, while I opted for the udon. We got fatty beef for our protein, Enoki mushrooms, and the pork dumplings.

For our BBQ, we got a few more protein options which included Short Ribs, Beef Bulgogi, Pork Belly, and the Ribeye Steak. They have an appetizer and sauce bar that you absolutely have to visit for the scallion pancakes, kimchi, and the sauces to go with your proteins. For first-times, they have suggested sauce recipes for anything you may be feeling. Mine were more Szechuan and sesame focused while my wife got one that was more neutral with scallions.

I like to think that I can handle my heat but the numbing sensation mixed with the hot chili peppers made for a interesting meal. Nonetheless, we got to cooking and enjoyed a very delicious meal. My wife said it best, “there are a lot of new flavors that I’ve never tried before”. This came from the broths we chose to the proteins we grilled. She was particularly fond of the dumplings, one of her favorites and extremely enjoyed them.

Grilling meats was definitely enjoyable as we like to err on the more rare side but the cuts were perfect and the sauces that we made paired really well with the meats. Honestly, if there was anything I could change with out meal, it would have been to add more protein for the grill! I actually liked adding the grilled protein to my noodle bowl reminding me of a hot noodle dish with the Szechuan soup base.

I can’t wait to come back either to this location or explore another Hot Pot in Cincinnati for the great experience that we had. If you visit Top Pot in Sharonville, you can also expect their Karaoke rooms if you want to get on the mic and embarrass yourself. It would be a great spot for a group meal and for it being an AYCE the pricing is rather affordable.

In the same strip you can visit TSAOCHA for some delicious baked goods and one of the best Brown Sugar Boba’s that I’ve had in the Cincinnati area. Hopefully you check out Top Pot Cincinnati in Sharonville boasting 4.5 stars with over 150 reviews on Google for your next Hot Pot and K BBQ meal.
